I read some people have Uros that are not all that tame.My male is super tame, females are a little skittish but once picked up are fine.I heard Beardies were great.I had one it was the wildest reptile I ever had.My Uros have way more personality and I find are easier to care for--especially because they get all the water content they need from their diet--you don't have to be constantly cleaning and disinfecting water bowls.
Trust me they are great.

most adult uromastyx are realitively easy to handle...when they are juvies and babies though they are quite a handfull. very hard to hold on to so i would say it's best to hold over the tank...until you get it to calm down and get it used to you.

good site would be www.deerfernfarms.com
-doug dix is a great guy

i think they tend to have more of a personality than beardies do. i have both and i would never get rid of either of them (beardies or uros) but i do think that my uro has more personality than my beardies do and that they tend to be way more active than my beardies too. they are great!!!!! if you end up getting one you'll enjoy him/her.
