i am kind of new to snakes but have wanted get them for a while now(wife doesnt like snakes).anyway i got 2 5 month old okeetee today.

i have one question though, what is a normal pattern and what is a jungle pattern?

I think normals are very hard to describe (isn't that funny?) - they can vary a lot. I guess it's any orangy or tan corn with dark eyes that isn't any of the other morphs! (attached is a pic of a normal het amel I just sold recently)

Jungle isn't a pattern, it is a corn snake x california king snake hybrid.

The way I interpreted your post, I'm guessing the female was sold to you as a jungle pattern, correct?

I'm not sure (it could mean she has kingsnake blood), but I think the breeder used the term jungle to describe the strange looking saddles she has.

If you are familiar with Leopard Geckos, the ones that are patterned oddly are termed jungle, which is probably why the female was termed jungle phase, because of the odd pattern.

By the way, that pattern may or may not pass on to her kids. It's not a recessive trait like the motley or striped patterns are.
