A Question About Pink Columbian Boas

clownloach Mar 05, 2004 08:05 PM

Hi,

I would like to know if adult Columbian boas keep their high pink color as adults? Or does the pink fade away as when they become adults? Because I have a 8 month old male that seems to be getting pinker as he ages and some day I would like to get a female for him. Should I go for a high pink female, or a different type of female? Any suggestions?

A high pink female will typically turn into a nice adult. The animals will generally get "nicer" in appearance up to about 12 to 18 mths then they will get darker with age. However this is not true of every animal out there. Pedigree will tell the tale. What the mother and father look like as adults will be a big clue into your young animals future looks. Some babies look like the sire others like the dame and then you have the ones that are a nice mix of both. NICE animals will obviously look nicer as it is very rare for a dark "ugly" boa to suddenly become a prince as an adult. Best of luck
