TRIP TO THE SUNSHINE STATE

grungpunker Mar 05, 2004 09:05 PM

I am planning a trip to Florida in April and was wondering where everyone thought would be a good place to check out. I am really in to arboreal snakes and hots. Thanks Drew

What part of Fl are you going? If your in the south check out a little town called morehaven, ochachobee area, or maybe some place off of the Tamiami trail. Central and northern Fl I would look around Ocala and a little place that I have always liked is Ginnie springs up by Gainsville. Hope it helps.

I agree with you about visiting the Gainesville area.....many NICE state parks there.....if northern FL is where you'll be.....check out Ft. Clinch......awesome trails through a natural swamp.......full of GATORS......big and small just feet away, plus every other kind of rep.

However, April may be a bad time......I have found that late summer-early fall is the best time for herping.......or maybe I just suck finding them.......

Have fun
Tom

I am going to the ft. Myers Beach. But I am planing on stoping on the way down. The Northern FL Reptile show is at that time, is it worth stoping on my way down.
