couliflour????

reptile_dude Mar 05, 2004 10:40 PM

I have a question for anyone to answer, I feed my Stubs carrots and broccoli and pellets but, wanted to know if couliflour was ok. I couldn't see why not but, wanted to ask. Maybe an even better idea is what fruits and veggies are really bad for beardies?

Cauliflower, Broccoli, and carrots are not harmful to your beardie, but should not be fed daily. A better staple would be collard greens, dandelion greens, endive, escarole, or mustard greens, with other veggies and fruits occasionally. Never feed your dragon iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, spinach, avocado, or rhubarb. There may be more that I'm not aware of, but I always do my homework when introducing new foods.

For a good list of foods and how often you should feed them, go to the nutrition content section of this website www.beautifuldragons.com/. It has all the foods color coded so you know which foods you can feed regulary and which to avoid. I have it bookmarked and reference it regularly.

As you can see.... carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower should not be regular foods fed to your beardie. Added to a well-balanced diet of greens they are fine for occasional treats, but by themselves they don't contain the type of nutrition he needs to be healthy.
