A semi-newbie caging question

MrSickle Jun 10, 2003 07:38 PM

Well I sent in the check to reserve a male red tegu. I'm now deciding on my caging options. I'm going to get 2 cagesbydesign cages and stack them, replacing the current 6'x3'x2' cage my B&W is in. Sometime down the road, I'm wanting to get a blue female and house it with the red male (I'd like to "attempt" getting them to mate) Although, getting the blue is a long time down the road (a year or two) I want to get a cage size that I could possibly house the red and blue together. Initially I was just going to get (2) 72"x36"x18" cages, one on top of the other and worry about a cage for the blue later. Then I thought maybe I could get by with the size of 72"x42"x18" (all of these are LxWxH). Would 72"x42"x18" be too small for housing a Red Male and a blue female? I'm sorry, but I just haven't quite got the "size" of how big they will become yet because mine isn't fully grown and I've never seen an adult other than in pics. If that's too small for the red and blue, I can just save money now and get the 72"x36x18" cages, and when/if I decide to get a blue..I'll figure out something

Go ahead and get the 72"42"x18". Lex needs the space
