wax worms.........

geckoman2000 Mar 06, 2004 09:40 AM

Are these good to feed your leo. Also what is some other ways to fatten a leo up. I tried pinkies one time and they would eat them.

Thanks

Waxworms are the junk food of the leo world. They are very fatty and have little to no nutritional benefit. They are also very addictive, and if you feed too many to your leo (even more then 1 or 2 a week) they could become addicted to them and refuse to eat anything else. Some people use them as a treat for their leo, I just assume stay away from them.

On this subject, wax worms are one of the best ways to fatten up your leo. I feel about 5 a week to each gecko and they eat them fine and still eat crickets. I know someone who feeds only waxworms and their gecko is still very very healthy. As for not feeding them at all, its an idea - but a drastic one at that. If you are going to breed geckos, I would feed them some waxworms in their diet - but not totally.
