some pics from my trip to Edinburgh zoo>>>>>>

skyliner Mar 06, 2004 10:26 AM

Hi allHope all is cool with you peeps,no news to report this end anyway, which is a good thingAnyway i was hoping to post pics of the zoos collareds, but alas it seems there in brumation or have passed them on to another zoo(Edinburgh zoo's bad point is they never have any1 on hand to Question). But in sight of this i'm going to post some off-topic and some sorta on-topic,lol does that count?
First up is there outdoor glasshouse which inspired me years ago to biuld something similar and it may end up on the cards for this summer, who knows.

this is there indoor enclosure which used to house the collareds but now houses platey's

now for the OT pics
this is a group of short-clawed otters, which are very cute IMO

and this is one of gods most gorgeous predatory birds, the snowy owl, this is one half of a breeding pair

i took this pic as inspiration for my niles outdoor enclosure, there was a gharial in there at one point but now there seems to be a spectacled caiman

and lastly is this gorgeous siberian lynx, one of 3 that the zoo have but there was no indication of breeding.

well enjoy the pics, sorry if they aint the best quality, still using the old 1.3 megapixel

...sounds like it was a fun trip, even if they DID waste all that space on non-collareds. Neat timing on those pictures, Nina & I were just plotting out a sort of JohnEzoid outdoor enclosure to build this spring. I'd like to put LT or Ghost outside among the rocks, it would make it a sort of "Biting Zoo". Everyone has petting zoos LOL.

I love the Zoo, and I especially loved all the critters in your wonderful pics !

Nothing as beautiful as the Snowy owl,

And what can I say about otters, I think if I came back as something it would be FUN to be a playful otter, LMAO
they seem to have a blast !

Great Lynx, oh they were all Superb, but not as Superb as you for posting them, LOL
