Female Super...

LauraV Mar 06, 2004 11:30 AM

Both Supers are F-4 - one Ihle, 1 Gee - I hope to breed them together for F-5 Supers before I breed them out toother phases.

I just received her, these pics were taken right out of the box. She is a little darker than I expected, but perhaps she will lighten some as she settles in. I still think she is pretty.

I'm used to seeing pink in the eyes...this was passing strange:

She has lightened some:

Looks like she is two separate boas put together, as she is darker in the front :

Size reference - this is more what I expect from a yearling that has not been powerfed - but at least she, as the female, is the larger of the two!! :

You never experience life until you have kids..then you realize what you should have done rather then what you did do

But,no,the offspring will not be "F5". If both animals are dominant examples of the trait, the resulting offspring will be 100% dominant, but, the filial connotation would essentially be "F1" (even though both respective animals theoretically may share a common ancestor.)many people erroneously label offspring from two indirectly related "hypos" as "F2",when they should more accurately be refered to as "double dose hypos" (?),or,simply "possible dominant hypos".

Well said, Tim. Now can you talk to those who are selling these animals and explain it to them. Otherwise at the pace it is going a few years from now we will be surrounded by F-16’s and F-18’s!

Take Care,

These two snakes are useless bred together? The two lines are incompatible? They won't produce Supers together - just possible? I thought Super to Super meant super babies...If the lines don't cross, then I guess that is not the case. Then, my search continues for another f-4 Gee and another f-4 Ihle...supers of course...and preferably not too closely related.
Let me know if I got it right now, correct me if I do not.
Thanks for letting me know.

I re-read your post. They will throw super babies, but F-1 Supers. that almost sounds like an oximoron! If they lines are combined, (if anyone knows the answer to this)will the babies be all spotty due to the lines not being compatable...or should most of them be clean like the parents??

Of genetic incompatablity.the filial identification starts over because the parents of the hypothetical, future litter are not siblings.as to how they will differ from,or,resemble either parent, depends on the predominance of the characteristics each one contributes to the equasion, however both lines of "hypo" seem to have a compoundable effect on subsequent offspring,so a combinant generation should show a marked improvement I would think. (in other words they should "rock"! *lol*)
