Question for those with adult womas or Bredl's pythons

ronda Mar 06, 2004 02:49 PM

I'm planning my cage purchases for this year, and would like to know what size enclosures you use for adult womas and Centralian (Bredl's) pythons.

By the way, I'm new to womas and had heard about their voracious appetites and strong feeding responses. You ain't kidding! They always want to eat!

Thank you,
Ronda

So a woma has a bigger feeding response than a bredli? That is hard to believe. I better get some womas. I havve a pair in a 5'X 2' X 18" enclosure that also has hides below the main cage. They seem to do fine, but bigger would also be better. They do move around alot, so they can handle more space.

Thanks, Justin! Do you keep you pair together year round?

True, the bredli have never refused a meal. However, they don't tag the front of their enclosure when I walk by either. The womas are definately more enthusiastic about eating. They're a "strike first, make sure its food second" kind of snake!

Yeah, bredli are a bit more docile than that. I do keep my pairs together year round. I haven't bred them yet, as they are only a year and a half old. The only problems with keeping them together is during feeding time. You have to keep a close eye on them, or else they try to steal the others food. They are the coolest snakes, but I definately want some womas soon. How old/big are your bredli? I can't believe how fast they grow!

My pair is from 2002, so they are about 1.5 years old. My female is just over five feet, and my male is just over four. This size is perfect! I wish they maxed out at six feet!
