This guide is gonna come in handy! I find strange bus all the time, and I'm always bugging (pardon the pun) my ent. friend about what it is, can I feed to my cham, etc. etc....
Come to think of bugs.... I was reading somewhere about Utah.... I guess certain times of the year (or is it on certain years?) there is a HUGE explosion of cricket-like animals. I was reading about this one rest stop area that was so full of bugs that the ground looked like it was moving....
I wonder what these bugs are, and if they would make good cham food....

Victor,

the guy who set it up, Troy Bartlett, does phenomenal photography - (I linked his main site below). the really cool thing about his new site is that it is interactive. Register for free and then you can help others i.d. insects, you can recommend books, you can post photos of your own to get help with i.d. or just because you have cool photos! LOL!. I asked him about a forum and he said it is one of his goals.

As for the Utah critter...it is the Mormon Cricket, which is actually a grasshopper. Here's a link: www.aphis.usda.gov/ppq/ispm/grasshopper/ as for feeding cham's...I think that was discussed last summer on the forum when they were out in droves. Not sure what the general consensus was.

see you on bugguide.net
