Hey JohnEEE... about those red-heads...

antioch Mar 06, 2004 09:13 PM

I was wondering, have you found a good caresheet on the Red Headed Agamas anywhere on the net? I am wondering whether I have my temps right... as they are not basking at all yet.

I caught the bug from you and got a pair... and they are quite stunning.

Here is the best thing I have found thus far...Do a search on "Agamid Lizards." You will find a couple different books. I bought both of them, but have received neither yet. They both look to be good reads.

I have my basking temps about identical to my collareds, maybe a tad bit longer. I have noticed them drink a lot more than my collareds, so get a deep dish of water, and allow some water to drip into it. Check them over for small reg chiggers. I scrubbed a lot off my largest male. I just some olive oil and a tooth brush. The large male had about 4 chiggers in one ear hole, then several more under the scales down the body. I also treated the cage rith Ridmite Rx. I will probably make a dilution to swab the lizards with too.

Let me know if you got the Eastern, or Western. I have 2 extra male westerns. I think I got 3.0 rather than 2.1 like I expected. E-mail me if you are interested.

Nice pics by the way. I fell asleep watching a movie, then decided to say what was new here, after carrying my boy to bed.

That would be great if you shared that information. I can't guarantee I'll stay up and wait for it LOL
