If you have enough time, patience and bandaids you can tame almost any reptile...(except I've given up on the nile monitors.) but a spiny tailed should not be overly difficult...I guess I don't know your situation but trading in one animal for another seems rather irresponsible.
I would also think about your decision before you make it. Two iguanas require double the space, double the time, double the food, and double the electricity, poop cleanups and double anything else iguanas do. It will be a lot of work and a lot of time. you might regret it in the long run. But it's up to you...I wouldn't "trade in" the spiny tailed...I'd try to find him a good home first...weight out your options...
