Is a 55 gallon aqaurium suitable for a single Veiled Chameleon?
NO. Try a cage at least 4X2X2 screen cage..
Do a search on veild chameleons and you will find basic info..
In addition to being too small, a cham should not be kept in an aquarium of any size!!! They need a screen or wire cage that permits maximum air flow, permits you to hydrate him adequately without creating a lake in the cage, and permits a proper temperature gradient.
I hate to say this but if you're asking this question it suggests that you still have a great deal of research to do. See the articles on caging, lighting & hydration at www.chameleonjournals.com and read the profile on veileds at www.adcham.com. If you bring him home and put him in an aquarium I pretty much guarantee he'll be dead within 6 months.
