what is a painted king?

scales Mar 06, 2004 10:23 PM

I saw a pic of one at aaa reptile's website... It's really cool- red, black, and white stripes. They had some other funky hybrids to, just wondering if anyone knew what species they are comprised of. Not that i intend on breeding them, just to satiate my weird curiosity.

rather than getting second hand info here, ask the people who have the animals--and let us know, too.

AAA reptile will not give out information on his hybrids. This question was asked by several people to him in private and in public forums. A couple weeks ago several people inquired about his painted kings as well as other hybrids and he refuses to share the info. Unfortunately those posts were removed from the hybrid forum due to a link in his posts for advertising.

I suspect they are striped sinaloan x striped cal kings?

Whatever they are, if they all look like that, we are going to be seeing a LOT of them on expo tables in the near future.

I don't like hybrids, but that is a fine looking snake!

I was on the same site. They are incredible looking arent they. The colors looked painted on. I am not a purist so dont care if hybrid or not as long as it looks nice.
I imagine the price on them when they are for sale will be rather high.

Only guessing here, but with the variability in pattern of many crossed kings/milks, I bet it is hard to reproduce that exact look time and time again. I wonder if that is the only one with extreme striping like that. AAA rarely actually offers for sale any of those extreme looking hybrids, which makes me think the extreme examples are one of a kind in most cases.
