Curious about Bateaters....

seablazer Mar 07, 2004 12:48 AM

I understand that what people call a pure bateater is a 50/50 Retic/Burm cross....

My question basically is, has anyone attempted to cross breeed a patternless burm to a retic, a albino burm to a albino retic, etc., etc.,

Also, if someone were to breed a green burm to a regular retic, would the patternless trait pass on, or does the patternless trait also require the other snake to have patternless in them???

I am breeding, or attempting to breed a female albino burm to a yellowhead male retic this year. We'll see what happens. My question would be what do you get when you breed an albino retic to an albino burm? Is the albino gene in retics and burms compatable? Is anyone else working on this project? How about a tiger bateater; granite bateater; green bateater???? What about a dwarf bateater? There are lots of possibilities....
