green tree froggy. is he sick?

Auzzi Mar 07, 2004 03:13 AM

I have an American green tree frog who just recently started to call, and has become quite healthy after a pretty bad illness. I also just got him de-wormed and was wondering if someone could help with something he's been doing since. He sits on the bottom of his tank and cunvulses his belly like he's throwing up, and does it for a few minutes and stops. Only late at night and he seems to go back to normal after. Any idea what he's doing?

Hi,

If this sounds like im being sarcastic, forgive me i dont mean to be. Are you sure he's not simply sheding his skin?

A thoraxich movement is common in anurans to remove old skin.

are going to throw up, sides go in and out, and mouth keeps opening like gaging, then is ya watch they take their front leg and push skin into mouth, thats hard to see.

I have 6 green trees and I see it every night! When they get up they do it!

Well I don't think you sounded sarcastic. I didn't know that's why I asked. I have never taken care of anything like a frog before, mainly fish. And to my second response, that's exactly what he looks like. Thanx guys for letting me know it was normal. I guess since I am up late due to work I was able to see it.
