Just wondering how it was doing....

Well, he digested two pinkie heads fine then regurged the third one after 5 days of the second one...he seems to be stressed so we are going to leave him alone for a week or so...then attempt a feeding again or a force feeding if need be.

I had much hope for her after she digested the second pinkie head but now she's not looking so good...either way I'm not giving up. I'll try to post back again in a week to let you know if she's digested another pinkie head.

Drat!!!! I was so hoping he/she would keep them down!!
Perhaps there were too many heads too fast?
Do try that unflavored Pedialyte in the meantime.

Well, after the hard work...and efforts the little motley died this afternoon. She was belly up on her back and had her mouth open when we found her...I honestly think it may have been something we couldn't have prevented in the first place...we just delayed the inevitable.

Either way, as sad as it may be...we've got plenty of other reptile friends to cheer us up as well as more little neonates on the way...hopefully this time the babies will spare us the worries...though I think the whole death of the motley was my fault in the first place...but I suppose we learn from our mistakes and that's as good as it gets.

All my regurgitant snakes i give activated charcoal with pump and stick cevitamic acid. This, usually, solve digestion problem.

I save snakes in very bad condition use this simple treatment.

All is simple.
This is for snake with body weight near 300 g.

If your snake regurge - use cevitamic acid injection with dose near 1.5 ml.

Then, after 30 min (this need for cevitamic acid dissolving), take 2-3 tablets of activated charcoal and pound it in mortar. Mix it with 10 ml of water and pump in snakes stomach.

You must dont feed this snake before it next defecation. First feeding object must be one pinky mouse.

This treatmen is very effective. At least for our animals.

Have you tried this on neonates?? It sounds interesting and I will definitely keep it in mind for any adult problems but my regurge problems, when they occur, come from hatchlings and under 1 year olds, so I was wondering if you used this method with any success on these?

I'm not really upset...I mean, yes the little motley is gone but it happens every year that we lose a couple...just usually they go a little bit more quietly than this one did...

Anyway, Thanks to all who posted and I'm looking forward to our sunglo/snow corn babies to see what they turn out like.

We do injection subcutaneous, sorry, i'm forget.

And we use about 1 ml for snake with mass about 200 g. For snakes with body mass 400 g you must use 2 ml and and so forth. Precise dosage is not so important, acid can be take out from snakes organism without harm.

I know how upsetting it is when you lose one like that, but like I have heard, just like someone else posted, some are just not meant to make it. Don't look at it as your fault you did everything you could. Good luck with the other babies.
