Got back into town late Sunday night (9-8-03. Hit Del Rio, Sanderson, The ALMIGHTY River Road-2 days and nights, then moved on to Deming New Mexico, then onward to Arizona. I will have to say this season has not yet been real productive for me, especially in Texas. The season is not yet over though. We only saw 3 Subocs on the River Road, and no everyone!! NO ALTERNA for me but yet again----- SO FAR!!!!! I will be back out next new moon.
We had quite a large group initially upon going out. Me, Kim, the kids, Lars and Ulla who are in visiting from Sweden, Meridith, Bruce and Holly. We had a great time in Mexico eating and drinking at Crosby's, and especially had fun cooking outside at the Outback in Sanderson, as well as the River Road. It was good to see all the "old" Herpers again, and good meeting the new!!
I will have to say that my findings in Arizona were much better than in Texas. I caught my first Pyro in the Huachucas!!!! That was quite a sight seeing the 2 1/4' snake laying across the top of the rocks! I was not expecting this!! Also 2 Klauberi were observed in the area. We did not see any Herps during the night. Since so many people were on this trip, it was sometimes difficult just to snake hunt. We had to do other things.
For those of you who I missed seeing--- Ed, Mark, Scottie...maybe next time! Hope everyone had a great time out in GODS country.
