Help!! Whats wrong with my Panther Chams Eye??

doozer Mar 07, 2004 08:51 AM

Im a little freaked out by what i saw when i looked in my picasso panthers cahe yesterday. there was a massive lump/bubble type thing right next to the eye, like the eye skin was blowing a bubble(i guess that is the best way i could describe it) he seemed irritated with it and then it "deflated" back to normal. i saw it like this again today, it is only like this for a couple of seconds. anyone have any ideas what is going on?

Sounds like normal eye-washing behavior to me. Make sure you're misting him (with HOT water in the sprayer) for at least 5 minutes at a time to allow him to do his proper eye-washing ritual.

i dont think it is normal. ir is like he is blowing a bubble with his eye. i can compare it to the was a frog blows his neck out. it is really freaking me out. i am going to call the rep vet tomorrow.

I'm probably the LAST guy in the world to say "you don't need to see a vet." People usually flame me for telling everyone that the internet can't help them & the cham needs to see a vet. But I don't think there's one experienced cham keeper out there who, in his/her novice years didn't "Holy !@#@$%! What's wrong with that eye? It's bulging out and then going back in!" Feel free to see the vet but dollars to donuts you're looking at normal behavior.
