No fruit !?!

peterparker Mar 07, 2004 01:37 PM

I have a juvenile crested gecko who seems otherwise healthy except that he refuses to eat fruit. We have offered him all different flavours, but he won't eat it unless I hold him in one hand and presnt him with a spoonfull of babyfood. Even then he eats very little. Just a few licks. All he eats is crickets and some gecko food powder. Any ideas?

Someone else posted this same question on another forum just last week. Apparently this is not uncommon. The recommendation was to just let him eat crix supplemented with Gargoyle Gecko supplement (has more protein than the Crested Gecko diet, since yours is a juvi that's what he needs) and offer fruit or baby food about every three days.

I just put some baby food on my finger and put it touching his nose and he licks it right off.Try it.
