Patternless Albino Southern Pine !!!!!

nz Mar 07, 2004 02:00 PM

I was looking through the classifieds and saw this ad for a Patternless Albino Southern for $200. From the pic it's clearly just a patternless and not an albino. Has anyone delt with this guy before? Either they don't know what they have (doubt it) or are misrepresenting the snake (more likely) to make a few extra bucks.

I saw that too. Probably they just made a mistake. BUT...they should know what the difference between an albino snake of any type versus a normal phase.

Actually, I have been to that store back on our honeymoon in Vegas, and the reptile section was pretty decent and the cages were very clean and kept up.

This reminds me of an ad from a reptile place in CA, where they keep showing a snow southern pine and labeling it as a patternless albino southern.

Yeah, I've seen that one too, it's obvious from the picture. I guess I just hate seeing them being mislabeled. If only they spent a little time on this forum.

I'm actually "new" to Pines, but I've been keeping/breeding various Pythons, Boas, and Colubrids for many years now. After I saw some of Mark & Kim Bells Snow Southern Pines, I was floored, and decided to buy into some nice future project animals. They're some of the most intense animals in my Colubrid collection (and put on a great defensive display) and in short, I'm in awe. I also noticed those to ads posted, and even after just a few short days doing some homework on this species, it struck me as odd that these were mis-leading, or mis-identified. I guess it comes with all species - not just Ball Pythons I've seen one to many "pastel" normals
