My 3 year old female layed her clutch of 26 eggs last night. She didn't dig a burrow though. We weren't expecting ther eggs for another three days or so because she had ate some mango the day before. For a minute, I thought she was pooping or something because she was wiggling her but like they do before they poop. Has anyone else ever had a dragon lay eggs on the top of the laying area? We taped the whole thing so i will get some pictures from the tape. Thanks. Amanda

Congrats....I have a couple of girls that like to lay on top of the dirt and then cover them up.....most dig a hole but not all...let us know how the eggs do.

Yes, I had a female lay out in view. My one female I had that was mated dug down 13 inches and was totally hidden before depositing her eggs. She dug down then cleared out all inside the hole so her whole body could go in head first and turn completely around under ground. The female Anna who laid on top had infertile eggs that I could not feel in her tummy, but was acting strange, so I decided to put her in the digging pen to work off some energy she was exhibiting. Well, to my surprise and right on top of the soil after digging a slope in the corner she laid 28 eggs in plain view unlike my first female who burried herself.
