Hi, could yall post some pics of your naturalistic carpet cages? I'm thinking about doing some elaborate stuff and just wanting to see if anyone else did something similar.

It has a waterfall and what not (not my cage). Would the waterfall/ live plants cause a problem for a hatchling jcp?
If I can remember, that cage is for poison dart frogs or geckos, and the humidity in that cage would be extremely high, which wouldnt be good for a Jcp. It can cause RI and other probs. Now if you just used a water bowl and branches w/o the soil and moss and waterfall.. it would be ok

Coastal Carpet Python 0.1 (Lillith)
Albino Burm 0.1 (Kimba)
Columbian RedTail 0.1 (Squishy)
Kenyan Sand Boa 1.0 (Shai'hulud)
Common Snapping Turtle 1.1 (Sherman and Abrahms)
RES 1.0 (speedy)
Well, the waterfall and layout is the biggest things I like about that cage. What is like the acceptable humidity range for a jcp? Also, if I was to do something similar, and had a screen top, would that reduce the humidity some? I also, wouldn't do the moss I'm sure.
couldnt the humidity be regulated with a small fan built into the back or top to move the air around? just a thought

That cage is probably too humid for a JCP. As far as naturalistic, its probably the hardest way to keep snakes. My suggestion is to use a very tall cage, a small tree, cypress mulch, and a water bowl. It is possible to mist the snakes to replace the water bowl, but if you forget you have a problem.
One thing though, be very careful about putting such a small snake in such a big enclosure. Use a much smaller cage to rear it to about 3ft, then put it in the big cage. When they are small, they can feel insecure about being in such a large space, and that leads to stress/not eating/death.
Good luck

No waterfall, but I do like live plants, I actually have a BCI in here now as I had to sell some of my IJCP's.

Very nice... the snake you put in there will feel like a king!
Only one thing: be careful how close the snake can get to the lights and the hot rock, and ensure that he/she cannot get burned.
