Hurrah! Two Mali Uros were delivered to my house this weekend! The previous owner is heading off to college and surrendered them to a rescue in Portland. Through arrangements made by Veronicag and Lanae, I just adopted these guys.
They are still small - smaller than my adult Saharans, though I haven't measured them yet. And they are WICKED cute!! The male (Tank) is very friendly and tame. About an hour after they were situated in the incresingly crowded lizard bedroom, I put my hand in the tank near him. He approached, tongue flicked my finger, and promptly climbed into my hand and up my arm.
It's such a delight after my wild and wily Saharans. The female (Turtle) is more skitty, but will tolerate petting and will take food from my hand.
Let's see if I can still do the multiple photo thing...
