I have received hatchlings by mail before, they were shipped in little plastic salad containers with damp paper towels around them. Outside of the container was a heating pad and a lot of newspaper. This isn't really the best time of year for shipping, unless you live in Florida and are mailing within Florida, or another warm area. Here in New Jersey it is snowing, so no reptile deliveries for me.

well im in AZ and id probably stick with shipping in the south-west.
in a salad container thing would there be alot of bouncing around? also, temps are upper 80's...i wouldnt need a heat-pack would i? (assuming that temps from my location to the destination were all in the 80's)
k, if i have to ship, this is what id do based on my knowledge so far...
get a box, line the sides and bottom with styrofoam, fill the box with shredded newspaper, put the turtle in its conatainer(with moist paper towels), place that in the middle of all the newspaper, have a styrofoam top, fold the flaps down and im done. does FedEx ship turtles? i know they dont ship snakes but they do ship lizards...

Airborne knowingly ships turtles. Send them next day express (there before noon). How large are the turtles? If we're talking about an adult slider, then put the slider in a pillow case in a box surrounded by newspaper, and put that box in another box surrounded by newspaper. If it's a hatchling, I like damp sphagnum moss in a deli cup - more all-around protection than damp paper towels - and then double box that.

You can also go to www.turtlehomes.org for instructions on shipping.
