Question - did you post this as a "reply to discussion", or did you hit "post a new message"?? We're getting lots of reports of this issue, but have yet to have someone tell us whether they used the reply tool or not. Please let me know by replying via e-mail. Click my name above to send mail.

Thanks,

reply to discussion

IcedGoddess Feb 07, 2003 03:08 PM

maybe then it makes it a new thread???

phscales Feb 07, 2003 03:11 PM

Hi,

Are you viewing with "threading" or "Non-threading"?? The default is threaded, the way the old forum was. If you've gone to non-threaded, it makes it harded to see what you're replying to.

I'm using the threaded view, I think I have it down now. But Still, accidents will happen

I do wonder why all the sudden when I enter a thread,
the font changes to symbols I had this happen once before on Kingsnake, and it resolved itself, so it's probably some dumb setting in my browser.....and clue?

PHScales Feb 08, 2003 10:44 AM

Hmmmm... I'm not sure I understand what's happening with the symbols thing. Do you mean when you're READING a thread that it changes to symbols??

If you're POSTING, and something changes to a symbol when you post, it's because our system interpreted (misinterpreted?) something you typed as being an HTML syntax code. For instance, if I type a colon, then a right parenthesis, it should come out looking like a smiley...

Oh, we discovered the bug causing replies to go to the wrong place, and I've reported it. It happens when the reply "subject" line is left blank. If you remember to put the subject line in, it shouldn't happen. Either way, we're working on it.

Can I make a request? If you have any other questions like this, could you post to the Feedback Forum so I can see them easier??

Thanks,

No, I'll try to explain it. I'm pretty sure it's in my browser, since it happened once before, but here goes....

On the main page of the forum, all the post titles and everything in in a typical ariel or curier font, but the when i enter a thread, the reply posts titles and names, dates, etc.. are in some sort of symbol font. But if I copy and paste it into here or go into that post, it's normal font again.

Make any sense??? It doesn't to me...lol
