King eats corn

CrazyCorn Mar 08, 2004 04:00 AM

Well I had an non-feeding corn that wouldn't thrive so I decided to try and put these two together and see what happens. Lets just say the king was very happy to oblige.

oh, man...did you try EVERYTHING you could to get the Corn to eat before you did that? that's really sad and hurtful. i know it's your snake and all, but i'd rather see a picture of a snake eating a mouse. just thought i'd share my feelings.

yeah i mean same principal but that was pretty not good to do but no arguement each to there own. i believe its a brooks hypo?

i forgot to ask...what kind of King is that? Florida, Splendida, what? if i might also ask...was there even the slightest chance of breeding the 2 instead of feeding them to each other? just thought i'd ask.

They were both 03 and the king was a FL. King, The corn had just died from not eating as it hadn't eaten since August a bit after it hatched, Yeah I know its sad and all but I thought why let it go to waste, Also I am sure you could breed the two if they were mature enough and under the right circumstances.

That's pretty cool. I used to have some Burton's legless lizards and Asian vine snakes that loved other lizards and snakes.

why would you want to breed a king to a corn? I wouldnt call myself a purist but crossing species that different makes no sense to me, or whether it would even work. Also, how do you post pics on these messages? I have a nice one of my king but can't work out how to get it in here.

ohhhh...the Corn was already dead...i thought you fed it to the King alive!! now i don't feel quite so bad. but, if it was me i probably still would've buried it rather than fed it to the other snake(and i would've been crying the whole time). i know...i'm too soft-hearted. sorry. as far as the other person questioning the cross-breeding thing...it can be and is being done. you get what's called a 'Jungle Corn' when you cross a Corn snake with a Cali King. i see them sometimes at shows.

"but, if it was me i probably still would've buried it rather than fed it to the other snake(and i would've been crying the whole time). "

If I did that I'd be crying that the snake's life was a complete waste. When I die I want to be fed to a carnivore. lol
