Does anyone use this for their monitors? I do not, and am highly skeptical, but was just curious to see what fellow monitor keeper's thoughts might be on this product. They claim that they feed this to Komodos as a primary diet ..?

I use it in conjunction with rodents and sometimes worms for a varied diet. My argus seems to like the stuff, and i see no ill effects as a result of feeding the canned stuff. It smells like [bleep] though, but i guess they like that sort of thing. I say go for it.

Well, they claim that zoos feed it to their croc and komodo monitors. If that is true, maybe it would be good to use in conjunction with rodents, as you do...

I've never cared for canned diets.. why try to improve on what mother nature has already made perfect in terms of food? No man made product can ever do that. Not to mention those canned foods have so many preservatives it isn't funny and no one has done a long term study on the possible effects of preservatives on captive monitors or reptiles. I mean look at the red dye thing that happened with rodents fed on dog food that were then fed to reptiles. The reptiles got sick and/or died from it.. so you can't know for sure what something will do in the long run since it isn't really tried and true. Stick with rodents... its a whole lot easier.. neater.. and less smelly.
