Thank you for all the kind words. I have another question for all of you, She is still drooling, she did shed, and still has not eaten. She also has what appears to be a swollen throat. I talked to the breeder who I bought her from, and he said that the female she came from did pretty much the same thing when she was pregnant. I do keep the male and femle together, so I am guessing that it is possible....isn't it? She also has done some strange things since the shed. One day she spent 4-5 hours directly under the spot light. She later retreated to the hide. Any ideas regarding what she may be up to?

Oh, almost forgot, the drool... it is the consistency of jelly and is perfectly clear. What's up?

Rainboa,
. The discharge that is the consistency of jelly and the swollen neck sound like symptoms of a serious respiratory infection.

You posted ealier about your 2 1/2 yr old female drooling and said you keep her on coconut bark substrate. The thoughts that entered my mind from your current post was that maybe she has something lodged in her throat/neck. Not a chunk of bark, but more like a tiny sliver of bark that is embedded somewhere that is now forming an abcess (swelling in neck) and infection is setting in causing her not to want to eat or not being able to eat. I didn't know if it was possible for her to ingest any substrate or not, so I thought I'd mention it. Either way(abcess/respiratory infection) she should probably be scheduled for an appointment at the veterinarian.

At her age I don't think it would be likely that she is pregnant, and if she was the I can't imagine why she'd drool or have a swelling. If the male has recently been introduced to her, she may not eat. But I think you have something more going on.

Thanks for the input,

She is at the Vet's office as we speak. He said it does not look like a "cold" (as he put it), but he wants to keep her for the rest of the week to monitor her.

Sliver.... Could be i guess, but i put her into a cardboard box with news paper on the floor for feeding, so unless she had midnight craving for fiber, i don't think it is that, but thanks for the suggestion.

Once i figure out how to add photos, i am going to send one of my enclosure, maybe i missed something?

Thanks again,

Matt
