Since you have such a sucky attitude why bother asking?????
You were given good advice by people that have had and bred gecko for 10 to 20 years. Heck none of my geckos will eat a live mealie that isn't moving. They are attracted to the movement of the prey. They like to hunt.
If you don't like those answers why are you asking peoples opinions?
But don't worry I bet you won't get too many responces ever again.

Btw this was mainly in reponce to the same ? you just asked and the reponcs you gave people then reposting the same question just because you didn't like the answers people gave you.

It’s ok, we all make mistakes. What’s important is that you learn from them.

Can-o-whatever is not an adequate food source for leopard geckos. It sounds like mealworms would be your best bet. Call around to pet stores and bait shops, I’m sure you’ll be able to find them somewhere if you try hard enough. Do some research online about mealworms, and maybe you’ll learn how to breed your own, I bet your parents would be happy about that.

I regret the day I became lazy and started to feed my leo those bloody things. He eventually stoped eating live crikets all together (I think he got lazy). Then he gradually decreased the ammount of canned ones he ate. And now here we are, going for our third vet appointment tomorow. Rex hasn't eaten in months. The canned crickets don't have near as much of the good stuff live ones have. I still dusted them occationally, but it wasn't enough. With the canned ones you don't have a chance to gut load. He has MBD and other problems, all from not enough vitamin D and calcium absorbtion. Not to mention the fact that the canned crickets start to mold in less than a week. How do they expect an animal that weights 2oz. to eat a can twice as big as them. I did start to freeze them which seemed to only freezer burn them. I'm not 100% sure they are the cause of our problems but I don't think they helped at all. Sorry if this is hard to understand, I've had a few sleepless night worrying about my little buddy. I'm staring to think he's not going to make it

Don't give up. Leos are hardy little buggers. The worst thing, the WORST thing you can do is give up hope. As long as you are trying, they will fight to the very end. Yes, sometimes you still lose them, as I did this past week with Sara, but I also helped my other girl Abbie recover, and she nearly weighs 50g now...

Thank you so much for your encouragement. I hope Rex gets better, hopefully we'll find out tomorow after an x-ray. I'm sorry about your leo, what was wrong with her and the one who got better? Congrats!!! 50g, that's awsome, I would be so happy if that happened here.

Well, I'm not really sure what happened with Abbie. She just really never started eating. I ended up having to syringe feed her, and then eventually we'd get her to open her mouth and stuff a mealworm in, until today she's one of the first to gallop out of the hide.

As for Sara, I don't have proof, but I think she became impacted on the new ESU Lizard Litter I was trying in her cage, so I have no one to blame but myself and she paid for my ignorance

I'm thinking Rex might be impacted as well as the MBD. ALL gravel should be banned. I used the calci sand for the last 6 months, but before that I used almond chippings. I was told the almond chippings were the best because they were able to digest them, now I find out they are the worst . I wish I would have known then all that I know now.

Well, the thing that I've learned is that those things are safe for reptiles, just not leos. Most all the other reptiles digest their meals long enough to break down the chips or pellets. However, the leos digestive track is so short it doesn't have time to dissolve into smaller particles, so it gets stuck.

Oh yeah, I used canned crikets for over a year with a dish thats battery opperated to make them bounce. Rex wouldn't eat them unless they moved. How does yours eat them?
