Rick, Marcia, RedQuake, Dedalus... oh and all my other friends I'm forgetting...

What is the best way to take pictures? I bought a disposible camera last night, but I don't want to waste 27 exposures.

ALso, for Rick and Marcia mostly, what is the best way to go about having a logo designed? I have lots of ideas, but fall well short in the artistic department..

Jeff

Uhh take pics with and without flash and see how they turn out. It's about the only way to test your lighting conditions. As for logo's get a copy of adobe photoshop and take the tutorial. With about 10 minutes of messing around you can do some pretty kick ass stuff with cloning and blending.

Yah get an old version of photo shop. I "found" my copy of photoshop 4 ***coughregisteredversionbutnotminecough*** and it works great, even has the nifty lens flare stuff.

Gee, it's hard to advise you since all cameras are different. Taking pics of leos is a challenge, and you are bound to go through a lot of shots to get the technique 'dialed in'. That's the nice thing about digitals... you can keep practicing until you get it right. The best advise I have is to avoid the flash (it really washes out the colors,) and try to utilize natural sunlight as much as possible.

As far as getting a logo designed, there have been some pretty good pointers given already. If you can get a hold of a good imaging program, it can be fun just to play around with it and come up with ideas. Personally, I use MS Digital Image Pro for my graphics projects, MS Home Publishing for artwork, and Adobe for all my basic cropping, focus adjustments, and watermarking of gecko shots for the website.

Just try to have fun with it, and good luck!

I use a professional grade Minolta SLR camera and i get great shots, but the pics always turn out crappy once i've scanned them to the computer....thats what i get for going cheap. Going to save up for a digital cam soon.

Now......after 17 hours of work, i'm going to bed LMAO. Won't be around much due to these overnight shifts.....but i'll check in now and then this week
