? on Egg Laying Date

Aaron_Luxenberg Mar 08, 2004 08:10 PM

I have a female that went through oculation and her pre lay shed was on February 4th. It has been 33 days since then and she is has still not deposited her eggs, she is still doing the laying upside-down thing. Is there any possibility they are still fertile or am I on the road to slugville. Please help

Aaron

Longest successful clutch I've had went 44 days after the PLS. Average is 26 though.

May also be that she did not actually ovulate. I say always continue breeding trials if you're not 100% sure. One of my females is in a similar boat. She "ovulated" Jan 17 and "pre-egg" shed her skin Feb 5. I continued breeding trials after this shed and the male was seriously interested, but I did not see them locked up. However, I paired them today and they're locked up tight. She's NOT gravid after all. (two of my other females ARE though)

She's waiting for you to stop looking at her every five minutes before she lays ...hang in there, it will happen!
