99 times out of 100 they will pass it without incident.. (I have had burmese pythons, ball pythons, and boas all ingest wood chips and not have any blockage problems from it) I did however switch everything over to newspaper or fed out of enclosure starting many years ago after I learned of the small chance of impaction.

NEWSPAPER FOR SUBSTRATE. BARK CAN HARBOR MITES AND IF INGESTED CAN LEAD TO IMPACTION.
