Hi Lele,

I've always refrigerated mine because I had heard that it extends their shelf life by about six months. I don't bother doing this with a pure calcium source (i.e. no D3) added, but with other vitamins, I do.

YES!

Here is why;

All along I thought I was supplementing my Jackson's enough, but he apparently developed tongue problems because of a lack of supplementation.
I was perplexed as to how this could have happened. Eventually I figured out it was because I had been giving him degraded vitamins. My vet agreed that this was probably the case. I had the supplements in their original containers in the fridge all along, but the amount I kept in the shake-cup, (until it was used up, around a month or so) was NOT refrigerated.

Since I have been giving him fresh supps., his tongue problem has pretty much disappeared.

Does anyone here know what the shelf life of "herpcare" calcium & D3 supplements is? It doesn't say so on the container or the box.

Hm... haven't heard of it. Don't know.

I would go ahead and grab some Herptivite or Miner-all.

They seem to be the top of the line.

I'd just contact the manufacturer. A lot will depend on where they are stored (temp, humidity, exposure to light). The calcium/mineral mixes should be pretty stable if the container is kept closed. Anything with a vitamin probably has a "use by" date.
