Beautiful snake!...I've hunted the Davis's for years and have not found one yet...
Snakes of Hudspeth County, Texas
I've been going to TX for the last eight years. I usually spend one or two nights in the Davis. This time the conditions were good and I got lucky.
Wow. Awesome specimens! You earned them judging by the amount of days spent.
I must be due to hit the motherload soon!

Chris,
I was thinking the same thing!!!

Hunting exclusively in Brewster, Presidio and a little in Jeff Davis counties, I have only found 1 alterna in my last 18 trips over the last 9 years since catching 2 in one pass back in May of 94. In one particular location I have in the neighborhood of 100 nights, give or take a few, since finding my last alterna. Good thing I like WesTexas as much as I do, well maybe it's not. Now that I think about it my last alterna (1999), has cost me well over 25K since we fly and rent a car coming from FL. The alterna maybe costly but the times and the memories are pricelss. OK, I'm done whining now. DB
