Brown spots on corn

seth Mar 09, 2004 04:06 PM

Hi,
My two year old male snow corn turned up with some bron spots on maybe 20-30 different scales. They were not mites, and weren't alive. So the only conclusion i could come up with is that some of his feces stuck to him today when he did his business. I was just wondering if there would be any other thing that could have stuck on his skin, he is housed on aspen, but it wasn't that either. I'm probably a little to paranoid about it but its better safe than sorry.

thanks,
Seth

Is it the whole scale or just spots on the scales?

It could be the start of scale rot.I would remove the aspen and use newspapaer or paper towels till the next shed....Paul
