Hey Tom Greb

It looks like Lindsey Pike is selling some of his adult Chucks (No hatchlings) and it doesn't seem like Doug Dix is offering any. I would imagine that they got their redbacks and redtails from you. Do you still keep in touch with them? I'm curious how their breeding experience went.

I'm not looking for any (I spend my waking hours supporting DVL's small army of chucks)but I'm disappointed that these guys were not able to produce hatchlings. I like both guys and they would have been excellent sources to spread the wonderful word about chucks.

Doug Dix only bought 6 redtail babies from me last year and I think he may have sold a couple to Rob Nimmo. He has had them listed on his page for 2 years now because I had a deal with him that if he took all the babies I would sell to only him and give a price break. Well it did not work out. I did not produce as many as I thought I would and I still had promises to other people that Doug new about so he was ok with it. Then I decided to just get out of the regular chucks last year because I was a slave to them. I ruptured a disk in my neck and every thing became a real chore.
Lindsay has been buying chucks from Richard and I for 2 or 3 years now and has quite a collection. The ones he is selling are California redbacks that he previously owned. He is selling them because he was not that impressed with the color compared to the AZ redbacks. I sent some of my breeders to Richard M. and a Pair to Randall Gray. Lindsay bought the rest last fall. He has a good amount of redtails and should be producing animals maybe this year if not for sure next year. I think he will do good and produce a lot of them. It is pretty amazing that over the past 5-6 years between Richard and I we had to sell at least 300-400 chucks and still no one is producing them. I saw a young pair of redtails for sale a while back in the classifieds the guy wanted $1,000 for the pair. WAY WAY TOO much for them. Anyway that is about it. I would put my money on Lindsay producing good numbers in the not so far future. I would have thought DVL would be producing some but he keep feeding them to the neighborhood cats. LOL. Tom
