feeling inferior

chainsaw Mar 09, 2004 07:45 PM

Apparently I can only wish to be as intelligent or opinionated as others.I'll just keep breeding my "ugly" hypermelanistics, and making useless albino's with more white!I'll leave the extremely difficult task of breeding cornsnakes to the true experts!
Having fun with my "ugly" ball pythons,R

I'm not sure that the black wash in a hypermelanistic would add any white to an albino. Basically the white in an albino is where the yellow isn't and I'm not sure the hypermelanistic has any less yellow. They look to me like they just have an all over dark wash that sort of covers the yellow. Of course we'll have to wait and see but I'm thinking that if you want a high white albino you need to breed in something with broad pattern elements since the dark pattern elements seem to be where the yellow doesn't generally go. Maybe a mojave or perhaps even a stripe (not sure if the yellow goes under the pattern in a stripe or not).

Chainsaw, don't be so hard on yourself. Your hyper is a great looking BP. I like the dark also, some like busy patterns , some like spyders. I like blackbacks the best. When I feel up to it I'll post a pic of one of mine. If someone rips it , I don't care, I like what I like.

You should take a better pic of your snake. It is not that difficult to take a good pic of a ball python. You might want to start by removing the hide box and getting a full body shot??? From the looks of your first post, that ball python is as normal as they get PERIOD!! If you want anyone to see your snake for it's true colors, show us some pics of it next to a normal for comparison (and again, remove it from the hide box). Also, post some pics of it next to it's babies. I would love to see an interesting dominent pattern be proven other then normal. Instead of feeling inferior, feel confident in what you have and prove us wrong. No one is here to bash (hopefully?) This forum is here to give info about ball pythons. Opinions are not fact; However, if everyone is telling you it's NORMAL, you might want to have an open mind to the majority vote. Look forward to some better pics, and follow your instincts on breeding projects, and you will be
