Update on my Leos

Paradisio Mar 09, 2004 07:50 PM

Well everyone is finally eating a decent amount, and are eating mealworms.

Looks like I'll be able to move them to a permanent enclosure soon.

From my limited background, I concluded I have 1 male and 2 females.... And in two generations I can have Tremper Patternless Albinos

My patternless who was originally the runt is now the largest by far, probably 2-3 times the size as the smallest one. But she still has a lot of growing to do. She looks very nice now, except for losing the end of two digits, not really noticable, my fault for not providing proper humidity, I feel bad.

The largest one originally is now the second largest, and while hasn't put on weight, hasn't lost any, I have been having to feed it by hand occasionally. But he is finally eating on his own now, and should start putting on weight.

My medium sized one has put on weight in the last few weeks, is the one that always had feeding problems, and finally started eating very well lately, and should start to show some more weight soon.

Sounds like everthing is going well.
Don't put the male with the two females though even if they are all eating well. Not till the females are over 50-55 grams.

Oh, good point I will just upgrade their seperate enclosures or house the females together....

Can a male breed anytime after he is visibly male? Not that I would, just wondering.

I have never bred a male under 50 grams, But I have heard of them breeding as early as 4 months(the male anyway). I think there could be some problems with that though. Maybe prolapse? I am not really sure what what else. maybe someone else knows.
