I almost never see these when they're this small. Most eastern coachwhips I see (few) are already in adult colors and much much bigger.

Great detail shot of the little snake. They've got such neat "hooded" eyes. I haven't seen many juveniles either, just a couple of large adults crossing the road.

They are impressive snakes. I don't know if I'd have the nerve to try to tail a big one for a pic. They can be a little "fiesty" when they get warmed up.
