Hey,

Even if it were small, don't try fish with newts. I housed a small angel with one of my fire-bellys; it bit at its toes. In some instances, I've even had to remove feeder guppies from my tank because they were harrasing my newts. It works for some, and not for others I guess. Sorry, but I wouldn't try it.

Keeping a fish with a amphibians is like keeping a dog with a rabbit, sooner or later the fur is going to fly. Please keep amphibians by themselves.
