I think they are getting ready!

poisonfrog420 Mar 09, 2004 10:00 PM

In the last few days I have cleaned and reorginized my frillys cage. I have a pair in this cage and they have been kind of lack luster for a few months. I added twice as many branchs as they had before and added one of those T-rex active U.V. heat bulbs. I took out their nesting box filled with dirt and just stacked a sand/soil mixture at the side of the cage. I have also started misting them down once or twice a day. Any way, to make a long story short they are very active. The male has started to run around and bob his head when any one walks by. The female has been flowing the male around and trying to get his attion, but he is more interested in basking and running around. Here is a pic, I will post some more of the cage and them.

I have just added the doors on the front. Before it just had a plexi-glass front and a door on the side. This pic shows the side door.

Mine always breed really late at night. So keep the sand moist and watch for any changes. The females will look more bulky. Once they start your should get 3-5 clutches. Keep her fat and happy.Mine really liked basking under that UV bulb. I personally would take everything out of the bottom and have about 1 inch of sand exept that corner. It will make it easier and also make sure they end up only in that spot.
