i cnat seem to find any info on breeding rats? is it jsut liek breeding mice? what do i need to know to sucessfully breed them. any info will be a great help.

Yes breeding rats is like mice. I think breeding rats isw easier but thats just me I guess. Maybe because I used to raise alot of rats and not so much much. Just put them in groups of 1.3 depending on the size of cage you have them in. Just leave the male in there all the time and you will have lots of rats. From what I have read, rats eat a little different than mice. Most peopl use some sort of lab block or just the el cheapo dog food. Lots use Ol' Roy from Walmart.

so much of what we learn about breeding rodents is through trial and error. You're on the right track by getting some tips before jumping into it, but jump into it. Get a female about 2 months old and a male, put em together, and keep them alive. They'll take care of the reproduction part. If you're already breeding mice well, then this will be no sweat for you.

Cooler temps will increase yield significantly in long run. Mid 60's to mid 70's, or a cool room temperature.
