Does anyone out there like the other Epicrates ssp, like me??

jay w. Mar 09, 2004 10:56 PM

Its late, I'm bored, and my Cuban is down to its last ash. Just curious to know if anyone appreciates the insular boas nearly as much as I do. Here's what I work with currently:

Jamaican Boas
Puerto Rican Boas
Turks/Caicos Is. Boas
Bimini Boas
Cuban Boas
Haitian Boas
Hispaniolan Vine BOas
Ford's Boas
Nassau Boa (strigulatus)
Cuban Dearf Boas
TCI Dwarf Boas

My favorite would have to be the Jamaicans. They are by far, without a doubt, the most spectacular boa out there. My colony consists of several distinct blood lines, which, is very important considering that this is a CITES Appendix I. species.

OK, enough rambling. Let's see what kind of response I get.

Ciao for now, and remember, paradise isn't lost.

I also love all Insular Epicrates, right now I'm just working with continental Epicrates, cenchria cenchria, cenchria maurus, cenchria alvarezi and cenchria ssp ( Guayana ), But I really would like to get some insular pairs, My favorites is also The Jamaican, but I really would love to have Cuban and Puerto Rican pair just to start

You may be hard pressed to locate some PR's, but Cubans are out there somewhat readily. They get big though, upwards of 10 feet. Peter Tolson is currently doing some radio tracking down near GitMo, and he found a 10 footer. How impressive that must be to see a large angulifer in the wild!
