Selling babie beardies at 4 days old?

litlebuterfly Mar 09, 2004 11:24 PM

I have been breeding beardies for 2 seasons now and had one clutch late season last year and did not even list my babies for sale till they were 6 weeks old and will do the same with the clutches this season as well.

This person in my local area listed his for sale that are only 4 days out of the egg? What are the chances for these little tykes going to a new home so fast? I feel so bad for them, pet stores in our area don't even carry crickets that small for them so will most likley sell these people mealworms. Please don't tell me this is normal to sell this early right? I for sure never would.

Good luck all with your babies this year!

That is just downright disgusting and bad business. I always hold onto to my babies till they are 6 weeks old or at least 6 inches long.
Granted, I have sold to a few other breeders at a younger age, but even then it is not before 2 weeks old and the breeders generally know how to care for such little ones.

My 2 cents LOL
