My CB Mali Uromastyx

RedAlkiestarte Mar 09, 2004 11:34 PM

I have had my Uro since Nov 3 2003. (B-day present) I wanted to know if it was uncommon for him to not have shed yet. He is very active, he eats everyday, deficates everyday and he got fatter and heavier, but still no shed.

How old is your Uro and what is the length? If it is an older/full grown Uro, it is my understanding they won't shed that often - roughly 2 times a year.

Different - I have had my Uromastyx (he/she is about 7" long now and weighed in at 61 grams Monday) for 2-1/2 months and she/he is now starting on a second shed. When I got her, I didn't have a gram scale to weigh her, but I weighed her using my husbands small food scale a month ago and she weighed right at 40 grams then.

I don't know how good the original scale was weight wise, I have since bought a digital gram scale to weigh her and weigh our bearded dragon. Which now weighs 201 grams and when we originally took it to the vet she weighed something like 93 grams!! Which we have only had her since January 18th or 19th!!! I think she is roughly 13".

He is a baby. I didnt measure him, or weigh him (no scale) but I can feel he got a heavier and noticably fatter. He might be maybe 5-6in STL

I had mine for a year before they shed. They must have just shed when I got them. I'ts been 8 months and they are gearing up to shed again.
