Why is it that some shells look bumpy, smooth, or sunken-in? Is there a reason for all of it. Was just wondering. Thanks

It seems to be related to the amount of protein in the turtles diet. Too much protein makes the shell grow too fast, causing it to be bumpy or pyramid.
