Bug Box Review

Ball-Pythons.Net Mar 10, 2004 05:27 AM

I bought a bug box, and I thought it was pretty cool. Exceeded the crappy expectations I had for it, works very well.

The crickets come gutloaded, I got very few dead crickets, and there really was 50-60 in that small little box... Good sized too.

I read somewhere that crickets kill and eat each other when they don't have placed like egg cartons to hide. So very little come dead.

Here is the review....

Very interesting....is removing them from the box "all or nothing", or is it designed to re-close so you can remove a few at a time?

Thanks for the review, I thought it was pretty interesting when I saw an ad for it in Reptiles Magazine. Where'd you get it from? Was it from a local petshop or a chain petshop like Petsmart/Petco. Also how much was it. Thanks.

Yeah, they got a tab you pop our that created a hole. If you place the open box end inside a bag and shake it you get em out without having to put 40 back in the box. Just hold the carton in place. It's pretty simple, easier then chasing down and picking up dozens.

I bought it at a local chain, it was like 4.50$

I'd seen them in reptiles too, didn't know if it'd work. But they do.

Hi

Ya!, those bug boxes have been in my local petstore for at least two years now.

They cost more than if you were to ask the clerk to grab some for you out of there cricket tank. But there o.k. if you are in a hurry to get home or work and can't waite for a clerk to get some for you.

Take Care, TLB

It's more convenient for me because buying them in the box is cheaper them buying by the dozen. Plus, they come gutloaded. Makes more sense for me

Crickets usually sell for 12 cents apiece here, or more--so the bug box wouldn't be more expensive than getting 50 from the bin.
