my BRB's cage

rainboa Mar 10, 2004 10:55 AM

Here are a few photos of my BRB's home. i finished building this a few weeks ago.

Specs:

24" W X 48" L x 18" T

All melamine inside. Light on left, heat pad under 3/4" melamine on right (both on timers). Vents on let and right (adjustable). the hide was taken out for the photos, but usually sits behing the water bowl.

What do you think?

Matt

Another photo, with the drawers open....

BTW, the measurments i gave are the inside measurments (where the snakes actually reside)

WOW! That is super-nice. I like your design too. I bet your family and friends have you up to ears with projects.

thanks, took a while to build, but seems to do the trick.

cage looks great, excellent design... Do you have any vents anywhere? or does the screen around the light provide enough? cause i know too much/not enough moisture, ventilation can be a pain and i was wondering if youve found just the screen for the light to be adequate.

thanks

I have 4 2.5" adjustable vents in place. 2 near the bottom on the hot side, and 2 near the top on the cool side. Also, there is about a 1/8" gap all the way around the doors. If anything, i would say that i have too much ventilation as i have to resoak the coconut bark chips at least every other day.

I guess that is ok though, i makes me certain that everything is ok with the pair, IE: no mold or fungas in the substrate, sheds progressing normally etc...

thanks for the kind words,

Matt
